Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Finishes 10th At Maryville Invitational Tuesday

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team completed play in the Maryville College Invitational on Tuesday, with a score of 322 (+34) to finish in 10th place out of 14 teams.

Emory & Henry
Sophomore Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) posted a 77 (+5) on day two to finish in 25th place at +12 while junior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) carved seven strokes off his Monday score to also card a +5 (77) and move up 12 spots into a tie for 33rd (+17).

Sophomore Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) shot an 84 (+12) in Tuesday's round, finishing at  +21 which was good for T-47th as freshman Peyton Spangler (Roanoke, Va.) notched an 84 (+12) of his own to tie for 61st (+27).

Sophomore Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) rounded out the team on Tuesday with a +15 (87), also tying for 61st place overall.

The Winners
Point University won the team title with three players in the top seven as the Skyhawks turned in a two-day total of 592 (+16). Bob Jones University was the team runner-up 10 shots back (+26).

A.J. Rinehart of Walters State Community College won the individual championship with back-to-back scores of even par (72-72 – 144). He defeated Point's Jacob Joseph by one stroke (68-77 – 145; +1).

Up Next
E&H will next compete alongside the Wasps' women's team on Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27 at the King University Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Country Club of Bristol in Bristol, Tennessee.
