Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth At The Scotch Invitational Tuesday

LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team completed its third tournament of the fall on Tuesday, taking sixth place out of 12 competing teams at The Scotch Invitational. The tournament was hosted by St. Andrews University at Scotch Meadows Country Club.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Jordan Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) finished in a six-way tie for fifth place at (+6) after shooting a 77 (+5) on Tuesday while freshman Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) carded a 74 (+2) in the second round to move up three places into a tie for 12th at +8.

Sophomore Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) notched an 84 (+12) to put himself tied for 22nd overall at +13 while junior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) and sophomore Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) each went for a +11 (83). Alexander was tied for 38th at +17 for the tournament while Boone was 40th with a score of +18.

The Winners
Colombia International University held onto the top spot in the team competition, finishing the tournament at +26 (302-300 – 602). The Rams beat host St. Andrews by seven strokes (+33).

Seima Nishihara was the medalist for the tournament finishing at even par (74-70 – 144) playing as an individual for St. Andrews. He won the event by five strokes over a pair from CIU and one player from Chowan University.

Up Next
E&H will close out the fall portion of its season on the weekend of October 29-30 at the Buzz-Off Invitational. The tournament will take place at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, Virginia.
