Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Takes Dual Runner-Up Honors At King Invitational Tuesday

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team posted a program record for team score for the second day in a row as it claimed a second-place finish at King University Invitational on Tuesday. The Wasps' score of 277 (-1) beat yesterday's performance by two shots.

Additionally, sophomore Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) finished as the individual runner-up with the best 36-hole performance in program history at -4 (69-67 - 136).

Emory & Henry
Aliff posted the fourth-best round to par in program history, shooting a -3 (67) to move up three places to second at -4. Sophomore Jordan Kuang Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) also shot a 67, to advance three spots of his own into a tie for fourth overall at -3 (137).

Junior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) posted a 75 (+5) on Tuesday to tie for 12th overall at +1 (66-75 – 141) while freshman Sam Fansler (Moneta, Va.) carved four shots off yesterday's round to shoot an even-par 70 leaping 11 places into a tie for 23rd (+4).

Senior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) knocked three strokes off Monday's total to card a 73 (+3), to remain tied for 39th at +9.

The Winners
Tusculum University held on to its lead, shooting a 274 (-6) to end the tournament at -8 (278-274 – 522). E&H was just four shots behind, shooting a 556 (-4; 279-277) for its best two-day total in program history.

Aasmund Norum of King (Tenn.) claimed medalist honors, posting the low round of the tournament on Tuesday for a -6 (69-65 – 134). Aliff and Tusculum's Morgan Cain were two shots back at -4 (136).
