Slade Aliff Named SAC WePlayed Sports Men’s Golfer Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry College sophomore Slade Aliff has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, league officials announced Wednesday. This year, the SAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by WePlayed Sports.

Aliff, becomes the first E&H golfer from either program to receive awards from the South Atlantic Conference and is the first member of the men's team to earn player-of-the-week accolades in nearly five years.

The Hardy, Virginia native and Franklin County High School graduate finished as the runner-up at the King University Invitational on Tuesday with a program record score of -4 (69-67 – 136). His round of 67 on Tuesday tied for the fourth-best individual round in program history.

Emory & Henry finished as the second-place team with a trio of record-breaking performances. The Wasps set a new record for team 18-hole score on Monday at 279 (-1) and broke it 24 hours later as they shot a 277 (-3) to finish with a new record two-day total of 556 (-4).

Emory & Henry returns to the course next Monday and Tuesday when it competes in Catawba College's Richard Rendleman Intercollegiate. The 54-hole tournament will be played at The Country Club of Salisbury.
