Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Tied For 13th Midway Through Second Round Of The Barton Intercollegiate Monday

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team sits tied for 13th place out of 17 competing squads following one-plus rounds of action at the Barton Intercollegiate Monday. The second round, which will be completed on Tuesday morning, was suspended due to darkness.

Round One
Freshman Ryne Bond (Floyd, Va.) led the Wasps in his collegiate debut, shooting a +2 (74) on Monday morning to tie for 21st while junior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) carded a 78 (+6) which was good for T-48th.

Sophomore Jordan Kuang Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) posted a 79 (+7) which had him at T-52nd as sophomore Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) is tied for 61st at 80 (+8). Freshman Owen Bright (Roanoke, Va.) notched an 81 (+9) to round out the squad.

Round Two
E&H's players each had two holes to go in their second round when play was suspended. Aliff was +2 for the round while Bond was +4, Kuang Kyaw was +5 and Ojeda was +6.

The Leaders
Herman du Plessis from Newberry College shot a -4 (68) to hold a one-shot lead over Barton's Jake Conklin (-3; 69).

The Wolves have three players in the top six and ties after shooing a 284 (-4), three strokes ahead of the host Bulldogs (287; -1).

E&H will complete play in the Barton Intercollegiate on Tuesday to close out the fall portion of its season.
