Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Concludes Fall Season With 11th-Place Finish At Barton Intercollegiate Tuesday

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team moved up two spots for an 11th-place finish at the Barton Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Wasps completed round two, which was suspended due to darkness Monday evening, to start the day before playing the final round of the 54-hole tournament.

Round Two
Sophomore Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) carded a +3 (75) to leap 16 places to a tie for 47th while freshman Ryne Bond (Floyd, Va.) and sophomore Jordan Kuang Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) both shot 77 (+5) as they tied for 30th and 51st, respectively.

Junior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) turned in a 78 (+6) to sit tied for 51st while freshman Owen Bright (Roanoke, Va.) was tied for 90th after a round of 88 (+16).

Round Three
Kuang Kyaw posted the best round of the tournament for E&H, shooting a -1 (71) on Tuesday, advancing 22 places into a tie for 29th at +11 while Bond went for a 77 (+5) which was good to tie for 33rd (+12).

Ojeda moved up nine spots with a +3 (75) as he finished tied for 42nd at +15 as Aliff posted a 77 (+5) to sit tied for 44th (+16). Bright shaved 10 strokes off his second round, shooting a 78 (+6) to end the tournament tied for 89th at +31.

The Winners
Barton College won the tournament with all four of its top golfers in the top seven and ties. The Bulldogs finished the event at -2 (287-289-286 – 862), beating Newberry College by nine strokes (+7).

Harrison Wierse of Barton was the individual medalist at -5 (73-70-68 – 211) while Newberry's Tom Hull finished two shots back at -3 as the runner-up.
