Emory & Henry Men’s Golf 12th After 18 Holes At SAC Championship Sunday

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team sits in 12th place after the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Championship on Sunday. The tournament is being hosted by Newberry College at Orangeburg Country Club in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Round One
Senior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) and junior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) are part of an eight-way tie for 41st after shooting a +8 (78) on Sunday.

Junior Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) shot a +18 (88) and is tied for 59th while junior Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) carded a 92 (+22) and is tied for 63rd. Junior Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) turned in a 102 to round out the team and is 65th.

The Leaders
Lenoir-Rhyne University and Coker University are tied atop the team standings after firing rounds of +8 (288). Wingate University is third at +9 (289) while Anderson (S.C.) University and Carson-Newman University are tied for fourth at +10 (290).

Coker's Caleb Tidd is the top individual, carding a -2 (68), one stroke ahead of Anderson's Simon Wright (-1; 69). Sean Finan and Mads Emil Boas of LR sit tied for third at even par (70).
