Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Seventh After Two Rounds Of The University of Charleston Invitational Monday

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Golf Team is in seventh place out of 17 competing schools after 36 holes of the University of Charleston Invitational. The three-round season-opening tournament is being played at Edgewood Country Club.

E&H's second-round team score of 285 (+1) is the third-best 18 holes in program history in both raw score and score to par while junior Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) posted a -3 (68) in the afternoon to tie for the fourth-best score to par in program history for an individual.

Round One
Sophomore Ryne Bond (Floyd, Va.) shot a +2 (73) to sit tied for 15th place. Senior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA), junior Jordan Kaung Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) and sophomore Brice Reichard (Amherst, Va.) carded a 76 (+5) to tie for 31st. Aliff posted a +6 (77) good to tie for 49th.

Round Two
Bond jumped five places into a tie for 10th after shooting a -1 (70) in the afternoon round while Aliff was the second biggest mover in the field, firing a 68 (-3) to move up 33 places into a tie for 16th.

Reichard jumped 14 places into a tie for 27th with a +1 (72) while Kyaw shot a +4 (75) to advance three places into a tie for 38th. Ojeda shot a 79 (+8) dropping into a tie for 63rd overall.

The Leaders
Host University of Charleston (W.Va.) leads the team competition at +3  with two of the top four players. Erik Ulvang leads the way for the Golden Eagles at -5 (68-69 – 137).

Indiana (Pa.) University is four shots back at +7 paced by the second-place individual, Alex Swinnerton at -2 (72-68 – 140).
