
SNOWSHOE, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Golf Team finished in a tie for fifth place out of 15 teams at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational on Tuesday. Davis & Elkins College hosted the tournament at Raven Golf Club at Showshoe Resort.

Round Three
Junior Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) turned in a 75 (+3) on Tuesday to finish tied for ninth at +6 (76-71-75 – 222) for the third-best 54-hole score to par and fourth-best raw score in program history.
Senior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) jumped 10 spots into a tie for 15th with a +1 (73) on Tuesday. He finished the tournament at +10 (77-75-73 – 226) with the fifth-best 54-hole score to par in program history.
Sophomore Ryne Bond (Floyd, Va.) also moved up 10 places into a tie for 32nd place at +19 (235) after a third-round score of 76 (+4). Senior Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) finished the tournament tied for 40th at +23 after shooting an 88 (+16) on Tuesday while sophomore Brice Reichard (Amherst, Va.) tied for 44th with a three-round total of +24 after carding an 81 (+9) in the final round.
The Winners
Carlos Fernandez Mortera from University of Charleston (W.Va.) claimed medalist honors by one stroke with a three-round score of +2 (76-68-74 – 218). Davis & Elkins' Elias Jarn and Bluefield State University's Joseph Emery shared the runner-up position at +3.
Charleston won the tournament by six shots (+19) with their top four golfers finishing in the top nine and ties. Davis & Elkins was second at +25 with two players in the top nine.
Emory & Henry's team score of 914 was the fourth-best raw score for a 54-hole tournament and tied for the third-best score to par at +50.

Emory & Henry will return to action next Monday when it competes in the King University Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will be played at the Golf Club of Bristol in Bristol, Tennessee.
