Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Leads Richard Rendleman Invitational After 36 Holes Monday

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Golf Team leads the field through two rounds of the Richard Rendleman Invitational on Monday. The two-day 54-hole event is being hosted by Catawba College at The Country Club of Salisbury.

E&H set a new program record for the best 18-hole team score in round one, turning in a 275 (-9) and followed that up with the second-best round in the afternoon at -7 (277). Individually, junior Jordan Kaung Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) and freshman Will Watson (Abingdon, Va.) carded two of the best three individual rounds in program history during Monday's play.

Round One
Junior Jordan Kaung Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) posted the best round in program history on Monday morning, firing a -7 (64) to lead the field by two strokes. Freshman Will Watson (Abingdon, Va.) carded a -3 (68) to sit in sixth place.

Senior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) tied for 11th at even par (71) while junior Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) turned in a +1 (72) to sit tied for 21st. Sophomore Brice Reichard (Amherst, Va.) carded a +7 (78) and tied for 50th.

Round Two
Kyaw remains at the top of the leaderboard after shooting a -2 (69) in the second round while Watson moved up four places into second with a 66 (-5).

Aliff jumped 15 spots into a tie for sixth after carding a -3 (68) Monday afternoon as Ojeda was +3 (74) to sit tied for 20th with 18 holes to play. Reichard posted another 78 (+7)  and is tied for 54th.

The Leaders
Emory & Henry leads the field by seven strokes at -16 (275-277 – 552) while Catawba is second at -9 (559).

Kyaw is nine under par (64-69 – 135) with Watson a shot behind at -8 (68-66 – 134).
