
SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Golf Team saw two of its players tie for runner-up honors at the Richard Rendleman Invitational on Tuesday. The Wasps posted their best 54-hole team score in program history as they finished second overall, besting their previous mark by 30 strokes.

Emory & Henry
Junior Jordan Kaung Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) and freshman Will Watson (Abingdon, Va.) finished tied for second at -6, two shots back of the individual champion. Watson shot a +2 (73) to retain second place while Kyaw's 74 (+3) saw him drop out of the lead into second.
Junior Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) also carded a 73 (-2) to hold onto his place at sixth with a three-round total of even par (72-68-73 – 143).
Senior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) turned in a +8 (79) in the final round, falling seven places into a tie for 27th at +11 (71-74-79 – 224).
Sophomore Brice Reichard (Amherst, Va.) completed the event in 68th place at +31. He shot a +17 (88) on Tuesday.
The Winners
Laurez Meifels from Erskine College won the tournament with a score of -8 (66-69-70 – 205). He was the only player in the field of 75 that shot under par all three rounds. Kyaw and Watson were two strokes back in second.
Host Catawba College claimed the team title by one stroke over Emory & Henry at -2 (275-284-291 – 850). The Wasps had team rounds of 275-277-299 to finish at -1 (851) for the tournament.
