Kyle Sensabaugh is in his first year as Director of Athletics and his eighth year overall at Emory & Henry College. He is responsible for leading the College's 25 NCAA Division II sports, as well as the Intermont Equestrian program, the competitive cheerleading team and club sports.
Sensabaugh spent the previous three years as Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Success and the Department's gender, equity, diversity and inclusion designee. In that role, Sensabaugh developed a comprehensive program to assist student-athletes by monitoring their academic and personal success with specialized programming. Sensabaugh's experience includes coaching and mentoring young student-athletes, on and off the court, at the college and high school levels.
Sensabaugh spent six years as an assistant basketball coach at E&H. He served on the men's staff from 2013-15 and assisted with the women's team from the 2019-20 season until 2022-23.
As a student-athlete, the Columbus, Ohio native was a three-year letter winner for the Wasps men's basketball squad (2009-12). At guard, Sensabaugh scored 320 points in 55 games. Before transferring to Emory & Henry his sophomore year, Sensabaugh played his first year at Valor Christian College in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Before joining the staff at E&H, he served as the director of housing at People Incorporated in Abingdon. He also was the assistant varsity boys' basketball coach at nearby Chilhowie High School.
Sensabaugh graduated from Emory & Henry in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in sport management. He resides in Glade Spring with his wife, Annie, and his two daughters, Penelope and Maya.
