Washington and Lee Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Emory & Henry, 4-0, Tuesday Afternoon

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee Men's Soccer Team (8-1-5, 6-1-2 ODAC) scored all four of its goals in the first 27 minutes of the match en route to a 4-0 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (2-15, 1-8 ODAC) Tuesday afternoon.

The Generals got on the board early in the ninth minute as Al Organ found Parker Wolfinger with a pass that Wolfinger placed past the keeper for the goal. W&L made it 2-0 at the 16:51 mark as Zach Colby tallied an unassisted goal.

Wolfinger picked up a pair of assists as Washington and Lee scored another two times before the first third of the contest was gone. Justin TenBrook was the recipient of the first pass while Fred Gisa collected the other service prior to scoring their goals.

Emory & Henry only managed five shots in the match compared to 26 shots for W&L. The Generals also held a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Albert Civitarese picked up the win in goal as he recorded a save in 45 minute between the posts for Washington and Lee. Emory & Henry freshman Didier Grillett (Matthews, N.C.) made eight saves in the match despite the loss.

E&H will return home on Saturday for a 7:00 p.m., contest with Lynchburg College. The match will also serve as Senior Night for the Wasps.
