EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team and Head Coach Robert Richardson are pleased to release the squad's 2018 season schedule. The Wasps will play 19 matches for a third year in a row with eight home and 11 road contests.
Richardson also announced the hiring of Didier Grillet as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. Grillet played for four years in goal for E&H between 2013 and 2016. During that span he played in 55 matches making 53 starts, totaling 4,743 minutes placing him second all-time in total career minutes played. Grillet, finished his career first all-time in career wins, first all-time in shutouts and third all-time in career saves.
"I am truly excited that Coach Grillet has decided to continue his coaching career here at E&H," commented Richardson. "He is a young and talented coach with an exciting career ahead of him. Our goalkeepers will have a dynamic, driven and knowledgeable mentor to learn from, who is committed to improving the program he played for."

Emory & Henry will get the season started on Friday, August 31 at Penn State University-York. The Wasps will remain in Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 1 when they face the University of Valley Forge. It will be the fourth year in a row that the E&H has met UVF on the pitch.
On Tuesday, September 4, the Wasps will open their home schedule with a match against Milligan College (6:30 p.m.). E&H remains at home on Thursday, September 6 against Hiwassee College (6:30 p.m.) before road matches at Warren Wilson College (Tue., Sept. 11) and Johnson University (Thu., Sept. 13).
Emory & Henry returns home to face Washington Adventist University on Sunday, September 16 at 3:30 p.m., in the first of two doubleheaders with the E&H women's soccer team. The Wasps begin Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, September 19 at the University of Lynchburg before visiting Bridgewater College on Saturday, September 22.
An ODAC doubleheader with Ferrum College (Wed., Sept. 26; 7:30 p.m.) sets up a string of three out of four home matches as the Wasps visit Hampden-Sydney College (Sat., Sept. 29) before hosting Washington and Lee University and Eastern Mennonite University on Wednesday, October 3 and Saturday, October 6, respectively.
Trips to Guilford College (Tue., Oct. 9) and Hiwassee (Thu., Oct. 11) give way to Senior Day on Sunday, October 14 against Shenandoah University at 1:00 p.m. The Wasps will have their final home match of the year against Roanoke College on Wednesday, October 17 (6:30 p.m.).
E&H closes out the regular season with contests at Randolph-Macon College (Sat., Oct. 20) and at Regent University (Sun., Oct. 21).
The 2018 ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament will continue to use the Saturday-Saturday-Sunday format, beginning October 27 and continuing through November 3 and November 4. Quarterfinal matches will be played at the top four seeds while the semifinals and championship contests will take place at the highest remaining seed.
