King Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, Tuesday Night

EMORY, Va. – The King (Tenn.) University Men's Soccer Team (2-1-1) broke open a 1-0 match with a pair of second-half goals on its way to a 3-0 win over Emory & Henry College (1-3) Tuesday at Fred Selfe Stadium.

How It Happened
- The Tornado got on the board in the 25th minute as Zubair Taylor played a ball into the box which Ben Delisle finished from in front of the goal.
- The pair switched roles just after the hour mark (61:38) with Taylor running a give-and-go play with Delisle to put King up 2-0.
- E&H earned a pair of free kicks at the top of the box inside of 15 minutes to play but both sophomore midfielder Louis Pereira-Scott's (Glasgow, SCOTLAND) and junior midfielder Ben Ashfield's (Reading, ENGLAND) chances failed to find the back of the net.
- King added an insurance goal with four minutes to play. Carlos Sampedro got a turnover from the back line and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper for the 3-0 final score.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Ashfield led the Wasps with four shots, including one on target. Scott, senior midfielder Ethan Taylor (Powhatan, Va.), freshman defender Juan Gomez-Rios (Cali, COLOMBIA) and freshman midfielder Beh Reh (Mae Hong Song, THAILAND) each tallied shots on goal.
- Junior Derek Akers (Hiwassee, Va.) made five saves in between the pipes for the Wasps.

King Individual Leaders
- Delisle put all four of his chances on target, scoring once and adding an assists while Taylor had a goal and an assist on two shots.
- Collin Parsons and Jack Hyatt shared the shutout as Hyatt stopped four shots in the final 45 minutes.

- Emory & Henry will remain at home on Sunday when it hosts Brevard College at 2:00 p.m.
