Sewanee Men’s Soccer Beats Emory & Henry, 3-0, Wednesday Evening

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The University of the South Men's Soccer Team (7-7-1) scored two first-half goals on their way to a 3-0 victory against visiting Emory & Henry College (2-9) Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- The Tigers opened the scoring just 2:20 into the contest as Thompson Schollaert assisted on a goal scored by Tyler Cozzie.
- Just after the half-hour mark (35:18), Sewanee made it 2-0 on a score by Alex Bulgarino.
- Sewanee added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute as Schollaert tallied his second assist of the evening, this time providing the helper to Ethan Dutka for the final 3-0 score.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior midfielder Ben Ashfield (Reading, ENGLAND) led the Wasps with three shots, two of which went on target while sophomore defender Clarence Russell (Suffolk, Va.) and sophomore midfielder Louis Pereira-Scott (Glasgow, SCOTLAND) had two shots each.
- Junior goalkeeper Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) put up six saves as he played the full 90 minutes.

Sewanee Individual Leaders
- Schollaert put up two shots in addition to his two assists on the evening.
- Tyler Cozzie and Payne Gridley each had three attempts in the contest, two of which went on goal.
- J.P. Furman and Stewart Miller split the shutout in goal with Furman making three saves in the first 68 minutes.
