Warren Wilson Men’s Soccer Escapes Emory & Henry, 2-1, Saturday Afternoon

SWANNANOA, N.C. – The Warren Wilson College Men's Soccer Team scored a last-minute goal to pick up a 2-1 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-1) Saturday afternoon. The contest served as the season-opener for E&H while it was an exhibition match for WWC.

The Owls got on the board early in the contest. E&H equalized later in the half to make it 1-1 through 45 minutes of play. After battling back and forth through the second half, Warren Wilson stole the victory with a goal on a counterattack in the final minute for the 2-1  margin.

Emory & Henry will play its first home match of the season on Wednesday, August 31 against Lees-McRae College at 7:00 p.m. The contest will be the second of a doubleheader with the Wasps' women's team.
