BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King (Tenn.) University Men's Soccer Team (1-1-1) scored twice in the opening half hour to grab a 2-0 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-3) Saturday afternoon in a clash between border rivals.

How It Happened
- The Tornado got on the board early in the 15th minute on a goal by Kenneth Walton on a failed clearance by the goalkeeper.
- King made it 2-0 at the 27:32 mark on a pass across the box from Marcell Szekeres to Weston Joyner, who finished it at the back post.
- The Wasps had a chance to tie the contest with less than five minutes to go before the break but sophomore midfielder Malolan Veeravalli's (Charlotte, N.C.) attempt was saved off the line by a Tornado defender. King's Tijani Khelifaoui also had an opportunity in the finals seconds but E&H held for the 2-0 halftime margin.
- In the second half, both squads had chances but were unable to add to the tally as King came away with the 2-0 win.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Veeravalli notched the lone shot on target for the Wasps on the afternoon.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ty Catron (Wytheville, Va.) played the full 90 minutes making two saves.
King Individual Leaders
- Weston and Walton made the difference for the Tornado and Riley Moore registered a match-high three attempts.
- Jack Hyatt and Collin Teperino combined for the shutout, as each played 45 minutes in goal.

- Emory & Henry will play its first-ever South Atlantic Conference match on Wednesday when it visits Catawba College at 7:30 p.m. The match will be the second of a doubleheader between the Wasps and Catawba Indians as the women kick off at 5:00 p.m.
