- In the second, E&H got on the board midway through the 53rd minute for its first lead over a nationally-ranked Division II program. Junior midfielder Louis Pereira-Scott (Glasgow, SCOTLAND) slotted a pass over to the right wing for sophomore midfielder Malolan Veeravalli (Charlotte, N.C.). Veeravalli made his move on the defender and placed a perfect ball to the high back post over the outstretched goalkeeper for the 1-0 advantage.

- C-N went ahead early in the 77th minute when Eric Schmutzer made the final touch on a ricocheting ball inside the six-yard box following another set piece. Just 63 seconds later, Carson-Newman went ahead 3-1 when Jannik Schulte split the defense and hit a shot from 25 yards out to the right corner.
