Limestone Men’s Soccer Downs Emory & Henry Friday Night In SAC Action

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone University Men's Soccer Team (3-1-3, 3-0-1 SAC) scored five goals in the first half on its way to a 7-0 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-8, 0-5 SAC) Friday night in South Atlantic Conference play.

How It Happened
- The Saints got on the board in the 12th minute on a goal by Maziko Jiya, assisted by Stefan Roeb. Limestone made it a 2-0 contest at the 23:25 mark when Jiya found Jacob Hancock with a pass that Hancock put in the back of the net.
- Angelo Fabricio and Alexander Redner offered goal-scoring strikes in the 35th and 38th minutes to push the Saints' advantage to 4-0. Fabricio made it a 5-0 contest assisted by Josiah Ortiz with 26 seconds to go before the intermission.
- Coming out of the break, Luke Alexander scored for LU late in the 50th minute while Antonio Ferreira completed things out with his goal with 10:40 remaining on the clock for the 7-0 final margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman forward Lucas McCarthy (Richmond, Va.) tallied a shot on target while junior midfielder Louis Pereira-Scott (Glasgow, SCOTLAND) also offered an attempt.
- Senior goalkeeper Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) made eight saves, playing the entire game in net.

Limestone Individual Leaders
- Fabricio led all players with two goals on 11 shots while Roeb finished the night with four shots and three assists. Alexander, Hancock, and Jiya each had a goal and an assist to their credit.
- Wouter Dollevoeta and Zachary Way combined for the shutout in goal for the Saints.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will remain on the road on Wednesday when it visits Salem (W.Va.) University for a matchup against the Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
