Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 2-0, Wednesday Night In SAC Action

HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University (7-3-1, 4-3 SAC) scored once in each half on its way to a 2-0 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-10, 0-7 SAC) Wednesday night. LR is currently receiving votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches poll and has been ranked as high as No. 6 in NCAA Division II this year.

How It Happened
- The Bears got on the board in the 35th minute when a cross from the left side deflected off an E&H defender and into the back of the net for an own goal. LR would carry the 1-0 margin into the half.
- In the second, Lenoir-Rhyne doubled its lead at the 67:44 mark when Harri Rowe crossed a ball into the box from the left side for Arnau Olle, who placed it past the goalkeeper at the back post for the final 2-0 margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore forward Jado Masambeta (Uvira, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO) led E&H with two shots while freshman forward Jackson Hughes (Dandridge, Tenn.) also had an attempt.
- Senior goalkeeper Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) tallied four saves on the evening.
