Coker Men’s Soccer Downs Emory & Henry Saturday Afternoon In SAC Play

EMORY, Va. – The Coker University Men's Soccer Team (6-1-8, 5-0-5 SAC) scored five goals in the opening half on its way to an 8-0 win over Emory & Henry College (0-13, 0-10 SAC) Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action.

How It Happened
- The Cobras opened the scoring with a pair of goals by Che Richards in the 14th and 17th minutes. Lukas Berntsson and Luca Leonini were credited with the assists.
- Coker pushed its margin to 4-0 inside of a half hour with scores from Colin Serrdszum and Youri Keijser. Lionini earned his second assist of the contest on Serredszum's goal.
- With 2:01 to go before the half, Tony Barry made it a 5-0 contest at the half as Keijser found the back of the net.
- In the second frame, Coker pushed its advantage to 7-0 with goals from Richards and Frederic Benedix in the 53rd and 56th minutes. Coker capped the scoring with 18:10 to play as Josh Barry converted from a nearly impossible angle for the 8-0 margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior forward Nino Egli (Maseltrangen, SWITZERLAND) had both of E&H's attempts.
- Senior goalkeeper Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) and sophomore Ty Catron (Wytheville, Va.) split time in net with Scott making seven saves and Catron stopping an additional four attempts.

Coker Individual Leaders
- Richards' hat trick came on five shots as he added an assist while Leonini posted five shots to go along with two assists. Berntsson picked up a pair of helpers of his own.
- Jasper Rump and Justin Watkins combined for the shutout in goal.

- Emory & Henry will play its final SAC match and penultimate contest of the season on Wednesday afternoon when it visits Lincoln Memorial University at 3:30 p.m.
