ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team has received the Fair-Play Award from the South Atlantic Conference for the 2022 season, SAC officials announced Wednesday. The award comes as part of the league's release of the All-SAC Teams and Statistical Champions.

The Fair-Play Award is based on the number of cautions (yellow cards) and ejections (red cards) a team receives during the conference regular season using a point system.

For the 2022 season, Emory & Henry received 19 cautions during league matches to average 16.55 Fair-Play points per match. The second-best average was 15.27 points per match by Coker University (20 cautions, one ejection).

A team that receives no cards in a match is awarded 20 points. Each yellow card results in a two-point deduction while a red card results in a four-point deduction. Following the completion of the regular season, the team with the highest average (points divided by matches played) is awarded the Fair-Play Award.
