JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman University Men's Soccer Team (3-2-1, 1-1 SAC) tacked on a pair of insurance goals in the final 10 minutes of the match as it claimed a 3-0 win against visiting Emory & Henry College (0-5, 0-3 SAC) in a South Atlantic Conference battle Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- After a scoreless opening 30 minutes of the contest, C-N got on the board midway through the 34th minute as Harry Baggaley found Ben Dukes with a cross that he put in the back of the net. The Eagles would carry the 1-0 advantage into the break.
- The match appeared as if it would end with a one-goal margin as it did last year in Southwest Virginia, but Carson-Newman turned on its offense in the final 10 minutes. With 8:56 left to play, Nic Carsh collected a loose ball in the box and shot it to the back top corner of the goal to double the lead and put the Eagles up 2-0.
- C-N capped the scoring with 19 seconds left on the clock as Maxime Wester hit a scorcher of a shot from the top of the box to beat the defense and the goalkeeper.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior forward Jado Masambeta (Uvira, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO) led E&H with four shots, putting one on goal while freshman midfielder Gabe Franco (Charlotte, N.C.) also put an attempt on target.
- Junior Ty Catron (Wytheville, Va.) tallied nine saves during the contest.
Carson-Newman Individual Leaders
- Wester scored his goal on four chances while Dukes and Carsh posted three and two attempts, respectively.
- Baggaley went for a match-high seven shots to go along with his assist while Gunnpor Gislason has five shots on the day.
- Levi Burdette earned the shutout, stopping a pair of Wasp strikes.

- Emory & Henry returns home on Sunday to host Limestone University in a SAC matchup at 3:30 p.m. The contest will be the second of a doubleheader with the Wasps' and Saints' women's teams.
