Coker Men's Soccer Downs Emory & Henry, 9-0, Saturday Night

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University Men's Soccer Team (7-4-3, 5-4-1 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry College (0-13, 0-9 SAC) by a 9-0 margin Saturday night in South Atlantic Conference action.

How It Happened
- Jacques Fokam-Sandeu got Coker on the board with a goal in the 20th minute and followed up with another tally in the 22nd minute to give the Cobras a 2-0 lead.
- Youri Keijser made it 3-0 in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal before Mitchel Starrs recorded a score on an assist from Lukas Berntsson to run the margin to 4-0 where it stood at the halftime break.
- A goal from Celestin Blondel assisted by Hykeem Martin and a score by Frederic Benedix in the 48th and 56th minute respectively gave the Cobras a 6-0 advantage.
- Martin got on the scoresheet with a score on an assist from Benedix in the 61st minute and scored another unassisted goal just 36 seconds later to balloon the Cobras' lead out to 8-0. Rafa Reno rounded out the Cobras' scoring with a goal on an assist from Connor Duggan to run the score to its final at 9-0.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore defender Sam Molz (Ellicott City, Md.), freshman midfielder Tin Zymelka (Frankfurt, GERMANY) and junior defender Beh Reh (Mae Hong Song, THAILAND) registered one shot apiece to lead the Wasps.
- Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Josiah Wilson (Cleveland, Va.) made six stops while fellow redshirt freshman Jimmy Duquette (Kingsport, Tenn.) registered five saves in the losing effort.

Coker Individual Leaders
- Fokam-Sandeu led the Cobras with eight shots, five of which found their target. Martin had six shots, four of which were on goal, and Blondel fired five shots.
- Justin Watkins made a pair of saves in goal to preserve the shutout win.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry returns home next Saturday, October 28 to take on the Catawba College Catawba Indians in South Atlantic Conference action. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. as game one of a doubleheader with the women's team.
