Lincoln Memorial Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 4-1, Wednesday Night

HARROGATE, Tenn. The Lincoln Memorial University Men's Soccer Team (9-3-3, 6-3-2 SAC) scored two goals in the opening half on its way to a 4-1 win over visiting Emory & Henry University (0-14-1, 0-11 SAC) in the regular season finale for both squads.

How It Happened
   LMU got on the board early in the 14th minute as Carlos Herrera crossed a ball into the box for Tajay Grant to place in the bottom center of the goal. The Railsplitters made it a 2-0 contest with 4:55 to go before the intermission when Botond Skulka finished into the top-right corner of the goal. Axel Larsen was credited with the assist.
   Returning to play, Lincoln Memorial pushed the advantage to 3-0 within three minutes on a goal by Lucas Pedro assisted by Hayden Pendergrass. The Railsplitters scored again just over five minutes later when Leandro Dos Santos Haesler played a ball in for Guilherme Galvao to finish in the back of the net.
   Emory & Henry spoiled the shutout as senior midfielder Greg Ona Vera (Charlotte, N.C.) found the top-left 90 midway through the 79th minute for the final 4-1 margin.

   Ona Vera scored his goal on two attempts while junior defender Sam Molz (Ellicott City, Md.) also put a shot on frame.
   Wasp sophomore Josiah Wilson (Cleveland, Va.) made seven saves, playing the entire 90 minutes in goal.

   Galvao led the Railsplitters with a goal on five shots while Grant and Skulka scored their goals on four attempts.
   Daniel Benedek Miklosi allowed one goal while making one save as he picked up the victory.
