EMORY, Va. – With the first meet of the 2018-19 season just three weeks away, the Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams have announced their competition schedule.

This year, the Wasps will swim in 12 intercollegiate competitions and have added an alumni meet to the schedule for the first time.

"We are excited to get the season underway," commented Head Coach Cody Skinner, now in his third year at E&H. "This is the most meets we have had in my time here and it will test our athletes week in and week out."

The season will kick off on Friday, October 5 when the Wasps host Ferrum College at the Emory & Henry Aquatics Center at 6:00 p.m.

The Wasps will travel to Lexington, Virginia on Saturday, October 13 for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Relays on the campus of Washington and Lee University. The event serves as the unofficial start to the year and provides a more relaxed format with events which help build team chemistry and test relay transitions.

Next up for the Wasps is the inaugural Alumni Meet on Friday, October 19. Emory & Henry will be back in intercollegiate action on Saturday, November 3, hosting Milligan College and West Virginia Tech at 1:00 p.m.

After a weekend trip to Bridgewater College (Fri., Nov. 9) and Greensboro College/Guilford College (Sat., Nov. 10), E&H will close out the dual meet portion of its fall schedule hosting Hollins University and Roanoke College.

The Wasps will have their mid-season invitational over the weekend of Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, returning to Lexington for the Washington and Lee Winter Invitational.

E&H visits Sweet Briar College for a split dual meet against the Vixens and Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday, January 19.

The Wasps close out the regular season on Saturday, January 26 at 5:00 p.m., with a home meet against LaGrange College and William Peace University.

"We have a great group of student-athletes, who are competitive and strive to be the best in the pool. I expect to see a lot of records to fall for both program this year," Skinner added.

The 2019 ODAC Championships will be held from Friday, February 15 to Sunday, February 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina. It will be the eighth year in a row that the conference has held the championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
