Emory & Henry Women’s Swimming Finishes Sixth, Men Take Seventh At 2020 ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams concluded the 2019-20 season on Sunday evening at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The E&H women were sixth out of 12 competing squads while the men took seventh out of 11 teams.

The Men – Sunday
- Event 27 – 200-Yard Backstroke – Freshman Noah Wilson (Frederick, Md.) was 13th with a time of 2:05.45 while sophomore Blake Madaris (Acworth, Ga.) finished the preliminaries at the first alternate in 17th
- Event 29 – 100-Yard Freestyle – Sophomore Braxton Justice (Spanishburg, W.Va.) posted a time of :49.50 in the prelims to take 17th. Freshman Jackson Cheatham (Appomattox, Va.) was 26th, senior Nick Barr (Chilhowie, Va.) was 27th and sophomore Nick Moore (Lebanon, Va.) was 29th.
- Event 31 – 200-Yard Breaststroke – Freshman Luc Grillet (Matthews, N.C.) was fourth, posting a school-record time of 2:08.80. Freshman Ryan Spangler (Daleville, Va.) was 21st and senior Jarod Bracero (Hoboken, N.J.) was 24th in the morning session.
- Event 33 – 200-Yard Butterfly – Freshman Antonio Walters (Elon, N.C.) earned the first alternate spot (17th) clocking a 2:08.80.
- Event 35 – 400-Yard Freestyle Relay –
Walters, Spangler, Wilson and Justice capped the meet with a new school record of 3:25.09 which was good for a seventh-place finish.

The Women – Sunday
- Event 25 – 1,650-Yard Freestyle – Junior Lauren Trotter (Bristol, Va.) was 17th with a time of 20:51.78 while freshman Hannah Patton (Marion, Va.) finished 22nd.
- Event 28 – 200-Yard Backstroke –
Freshman Kenzie Welch (Knoxville, Tenn.) took 12th at 2:16.27.
- Event 30 – 100-Yard Freestyle – Senior Olivia Anson (Apex, N.C.) posted a ninth-place finish, winning the consolation final (:53.88).
- Event 32 – 200-Yard Breaststroke – Sophomore Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) took 13th at 2:38.22 while sophomore Anne-Louise Tunstall (Mount Airy, N.C.) was 15th. Sophomore Leah Mumpower (Bristol, Va.) was the second alternate, finishing 18th in the morning session while freshman Paige Woodworth (Davidson, N.C.) was 22nd.
- Event 34 – 200-Yard Butterfly – Freshman Kate Prager (Concord, N.C.) took 22nd in the morning session, swimming a 2:53.38.
- Event 36 – 400-Yard Freestyle Relay – Tunstall, Mumpower, Welch and Anson stopped the watches at 3:50.31 which was good for sixth.

- With the conclusion of the season and conference championship, Emory & Henry will now await the official announcement of the 2020 All-ODAC Teams.
