The Matthews, North Carolina native adds second-team all-state accolades following his All-ODAC Second-Team performance this year. Grillet finished fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships to improve his school record.

Additionally, Grillet was eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke, setting a new E&H best mark in the preliminaries and took 13th in the 200-yard individual medley with a new record time. He currently holds the school record at both breaststroke distances in both meters and yards, the 200-yard IM record and is part of four record-holding relays.

Emory & Henry finished seventh at the 2020 ODAC Championships in just its third year of competition. The Wasps continue to build their program from a grassroots perspective and are projected to return 100 percent of their points for the 2020-21 season.

Patrick Sullivan of Washington and Lee University was named State Swimmer of the Year. University of Lynchburg earned a pair of major awards with Patrick Hayungs claiming State Rookie of the Year and Hornet mentor Brad Dunn earning State Coach of the Yea accolades.

The VaSID All-State teams are selected by sports information directors of member institutions of the Virginia Sports Information Directors across the Commonwealth of Virginia. VaSID, founded in 1983, selects teams in two divisions (University and College) for 15 sports and five single-division teams. The group also recognizes Academic All-State teams across all sports.
