Emory & Henry Men’s & Women’s Swimming Sink Ferrum And Greensboro Friday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams each picked up a pair of wins on Friday evening, hosting former Old Dominion Athletic Conference rivals Ferrum College and Greensboro College. The women won all 11 events on the evening while the men picked up nine wins.

The Men
- Emory & Henry opened the day with a win in the 200-meter medley relay thanks to the efforts of senior Blake Madaris (Acworth, Ga.), freshman Conor Douthat (Bluefield, Va.), freshman Andrew Boggus (Virginia Beach, Va.) and freshman Hector Rodriguez (Easley, S.C.) as they went a 2:09.37.
- Freshman Aiden Quertermous (Awendaw, S.C.) won the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:04.64 while Madaris took first in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:41.15.
- In the 100-meter butterfly, freshman Kyle Berry (Ringgold, Ga.) won in 1:02.08 while freshman Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) was first in the 100-meter freestyle, stopping the watches in :56.33.
- Junior Noah Wilson (Frederick, Md.) touched the wall first in the 100-meter backstroke (1:09.57) while Rodriguez won the 400-meter freestyle in 5:28.69 and freshman Morgan Cassell (Hubert, N.C.) won the 100-meter breaststroke (1:13.00).
- The Wasps closed the meet by winning the 200-meter freestyle relay as Quertermous, freshman Matthew Gocke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Berry and Kidd won in 1:46.22.

The Women
- E&H got things started by winning the 200-meter medley relay as freshman Tilly Craddock (Christiansburg, Va.), freshman Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.), freshman Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) and senior Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) posted a 2:19.03.
- Freshman Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Calif.) won the 800-meter freestyle (10:34.10) and the 100-meter backstroke (1:19.04).
- Craddock picked up individual wins in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:06.90 and the 400-meter freestyle in 5:05.85.
- Gelenski also grabbed two individual victories, taking first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:20.16) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:12.29).
- Sweigart won the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:24.08 while freshman Danyelle Dukes (Center Point, Ala.) was first in the 50-meter freestyle (:30.81) and Ritter won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:45.92.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of its season at the TYR Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College. The two-day, three-session meet will take place on Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4 at the Collegiate School Aquatic Center in Richmond, Virginia.
