Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Remains Seventh After Day Two Of Bluegrass Mountain Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams continued their trek through the 2022 Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships on Friday. The men hold onto their seventh-place position while the women are still in eighth.

Additionally, the men saw four team records fall during the course of competition.

The Women
- Event 11 – 100-Yard Butterfly -  Freshman Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) went a 1:00.81 in preliminaries for 18th, and qualify for finals. She swam a 1:00.89 to finish 19th overall in the event. Freshman Danyelle Dukes (Center Point, Ala.) was 30th in preliminaries.
- Event 15 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Freshman Tilly Craddock (Christiansburg, Va.) was 24th in preliminaries at 1:59.62 while freshman Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) was 36th.
- Event 17 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – The Wasps posted a seventh-place finish in the relay as Craddock, Ritter, Gelenski and senior Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) touched the wall in 4:15.63.

The Men
- Event 12 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Freshman Kyle Berry (Ringgold, Ga.) set a new E&H record with his time of :52.79 in preliminaries as he qualified in 24th position for finals. He went a :52.91 in finals to finish 24th. Junior Antonio Walters (Elon, N.C.) (28th), junior Ryan Spangler (Daleville, Va.) (31st), freshman Andrew Boggus (Virginia Beach, Va.) (34th), senior Logan Smith (Knoxville, Tenn.) (35th) and freshman Morgan Cassell (Hubert, N.C.) (36th) also swam in the event.
- Event 14 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Freshman Payton Nabors (Lawrenceville, Ga.) qualified 24th with a time of 4:19.47 while freshman Aiden Quertermous (Awendaw, S.C.) was the first alternated at 25th. Both swimmers made it back to finals as Nabors finished 22nd (4:19.42) and Quertermous was 24th.
- Event 16 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Quertermous qualified for finals with a 24th-place swim in preliminaries, setting the E&H record at 1:47.61. He was 24th in finals with a time of 1:48.77. Boggus was 29th and Walters was 31st in preliminaries.
- Event 18 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – The relay of freshmen Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.), Nabors, Berry and Matthew Gocke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) put up a new E&H record time of 3:37.61 to finish seventh.
