Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Picked Fifth In Inaugural SAC Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Swimming Team has been picked to finish in a tie for fifth place in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Monday.

Wingate University, which finished eighth at the 2022 NCAA Division II Championships, is picked to win the league with five of the six first-place votes. Carson-Newman University, which was 16th at last year's national meet, is second with the final top nod while Lenoir-Rhyne University (27th) is third. Catawba College is fourth while E&H and Mars Hill are tied for fifth.

This will be the first year the SAC has sponsored men's and women's swimming as a championship sport. Featuring six teams, all of which competed in the former Bluegrass Mountain Conference. Wingate placed second as a team in last year's Bluegrass Mountain Championship, followed by Carson-Newman in third, Lenoir-Rhyne in fifth, Catawba in sixth, Emory & Henry in seventh, and Mars Hill in eighth.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Swimmers to Watch List with sophomore Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) and freshmen Max Betzer (Cumming, Ga.) and Owen Seymour (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) making the list for E&H.
