ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry College freshman swimmer Owen Seymour has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, league officials announced Wednesday. Seymour is the first-ever E&H swimmer to receive weekly honors from the SAC office.

The Signal Mountain, Tennessee native won both of his individual events and swam on the relay which clinched the 103-97 team win over King (Tenn.) University on Thursday. He set a new school record in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of :53.96 and won the 50-meter freestyle in :24.53.

Trailing 93-92, the Wasps had to win the 200-meter freestyle relay to win the meet. Seymour anchored the relay and out-split his King opponent by .12 seconds as the Wasps won the race by 1.29, stopping the watches at 1:42.88.

Emory & Henry will return to action on Saturday, December 10 when it visits No. 16 Carson-Newman University for a South Atlantic Conference dual meet.
