No. 13 Carson-Newman Men’s Swimming Handles Emory & Henry Saturday In Conference Dual

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman University Men's & Women's Swimming Teams put up a pair of dominant performances against visiting Emory & Henry College on Saturday in South Atlantic Conference action. The No. 8 C-N women's team won by a 165-39 score while the No. 13 Eagle men claimed their victory by a 162-35 margin.

The Men
- Freshman Christian Smrekar (Rock Hill, S.C.) was third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :23.94.
- Sophomore Payton Nabors (Lawrenceville, Ga.) took thrd in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:10.52.
- Freshman Will Castle (Morristown, Tenn.) posted a third-place mark in the 100-yard freestyle (:55.10).
- Sophomore Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) was third in the 200-yard breaststroke touching the wall in  2:24.05.
- Freshman Kolby King (Max Meadows, Va.) turned in a 5:46.06 in the 500-yard freestyle which was also good for third.
- The 200-yard medley relay was third with a time of 1:37.48 while the 200-free relay went a 1:39.80 to take third as well.

The Women
- The Wasps were the runners-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:43.64.
- Sophomore Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) was placed third in the 50-free at :25.21.
- Sophomore Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) went a 2:18.83 in the 200-yard butterfly to finish third.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, freshman Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) stopped the watches for a third-place finish in 5:32.47.
- E&H also had a third-place performance in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:00.65.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of its season at the Spartan Invitational hosted by University of Tampa. The four-day meet will run from Friday, December 16 through Monday, December 19.
