Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Drops A Pair Of Nailbiters Friday

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams continued their seasons on Friday with a double-dual against King (Tenn.) University and Lees-McRae College.

All four results went down to the wire with the E&H women claiming a pair of victories over King and L-MC while the men were edged by the Tornado and Bobcats.

The Men
- Freshman Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) broke the school record in the 200-yard individual medley with a swim of 2:03.42, finishing third. He also earned a third-place spot in the 100-yard butterfly at :55.66.
- Junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) on the 50-yard freestyle in :21.78 and was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke (:55.30).
- Freshman Noah Day (Milton, Fla.) took second in the 100-fly, touching the wall in :54.57 and was third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :50.85. Sophomore Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) placed third in the 1,000-free at 11:42.29.
- The Wasps closed out the meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Kidd, Day, freshman Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) and sophomore Owen Seymour (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) stopped the watches in 1:28.51.
- The 200-yard medley relay, consisting of Kidd, Teuton, Day and Seymour was second at 1:39.79

The Women
- Sophomore Samantha Pepevnik (Porsgrunn, NORWAY) won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.57 and was second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.51) while junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.)on the 100-fly (1:01.98) and was third in the 200-IM (2:20.24).
- Sophomore Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :55.39 and was third in the 50-yard freestyle (:25.44). Junior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) flipped those results, taking second in the 50-free (:25.18) and third in the 100 (:58.78).
- Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:13.01 while sophomore Jill Koler (Manassas, Va.) was third in 1:13.66.
- Freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) placed third in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:43.21.
- Both of E&H's relays finished in second place as the 200-yard medley relay went a 1:56.29 and the 200-yard freestyle relay swam a 1:46.54.
