Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Splits A Pair Of Duals Saturday At Fairmont State

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams closed out the dual meet portion of the fall season on Saturday, taking on Fairmont State University and Bethany (W.Va.) College on the FSU campus. The women picked up a pair of team victories while men split the meet with the two schools from the Mountain State.

The women's squad earned 11 race wins while the men's team finished first in six events.

The Men
- Sophomore Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:01.71 and also claimed first in the 500-free at 5:20.84. He posted a runner-up performance in the 50-yard breaststroke (:31.30).
- Freshman Noah Day (Milton, Fla.) won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 1:48.38 and :54.76, respectively.
- Freshman Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) grabbed a win in the 100-yard individual medley (:56.96) while taking second in the 100-yard butterfly at :54.80 and the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.75.
- Junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) was the runner-up in both the 50-free (:22.46) and the 100-back (:56.78) while placing third in the 50-yard backstroke at :25.37.
- Sophomore Owen Seymour (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) went for a pair of third-place finishes in the 100-free and the 50-fly while freshman Peter Davis (Manassas, Va.) was third in both the 100-breast and 100-IM.
- Freshman Daniel Snapp (Charlotte, N.C.) took third in the 1000-free while freshman Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) placed third in the 50-free. Freshman Alexander Hubbard (Davidson, N.C.) was third in the 50-yard breaststroke and junior Kyle Berry (Ringgold, Ga.) was third in the 100-yard backstroke.
- The Wasps took first and third place in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with the winning time coming on a swim of 1:29.38.

The Women
- Sophomore Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) earned a trio of wins, taking first in the 100-yard freestyle (:55.78), the 200-free (2:01.91) and the 500-free (5:26.44).
- Junior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) also won three races, touching the wall in :25.28 in the 50-free. She won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.20 and the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:03.68.
- Sophomore Samantha Pepevnik (Porsgrunn, NORWAY) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.29 and was first in the 50-yard butterfly (:28.90) while taking second with a swim of :29.29 in the 50-back.
- Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) grabbed first in the 50-breast (:33.31) and was second in the 100-breast (1:13.35) while junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) touched first in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:01.77 and was third in the 100-IM (1:07.00).
- Sophomore Jill Koler (Manassas, Va.) was the runner up in the 50-breast at :33.74 while sophomore Gabby Sadosky (Las Vegas, Nev.) was second in the 50-fly (:29.37).
- Freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) placed third in the 1,000-yard freestyle while sophomore Vivian Vanderpool (Elgin, Okla.) was third in the 100-yard butterfly.
- The Wasps started the day out with a win in the 400-yard medley relay while placing second and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay to end the meet.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of its season at the three-day Denison Invitational. The meet will be held at the Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville, Ohio.
