Emory & Henry Men’s & Women’s Swimming Face Nationally-Ranked Carson-Newman Friday

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams closed out the fall portion of their seasons on Friday evening with a South Atlantic Conference dual meet at Carson-Newman University. The men's team fell to No. 18 Carson-Newman by a 152-50 margin while the E&H women dropped a 159-38 decision to the No. 15 Lady Eagles.

The Men
- Freshman Peter Davis (Manassas, Va.) took second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:26.77 while junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) posted a pair of third-place finishes in the 50-free (:22.42) and the 200-fly (2:08.93).
- Sophomore Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) was third in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:58.07 with freshman Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) finishing third in the 100-freestyle with a time of :52.96. Sophomore Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) swam an 11:50.28 in the 1,000-yard freestyle to take third.
- Freshman Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, stopping the watches in 5:09.03 as well as taking fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.30). Freshman Alexander Hubbard (Davidson, N.C.) placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a 2:46.83.
- The Wasps got a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Jones, Davis, Hubbard and sophomore Owen Seymour (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) swam a 1:37.61.

The Women
- Junior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :24.42 and was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:56.74.
- Junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) was the runner-up in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:17.01 and was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.48) while sophomore Samantha Pepevnik (Porsgrunn, NORWAY) was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:15.61 and the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.90).
- Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) took third in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:42.74 and was also third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.50). Sophomore Maggie Robinson (Canton, Ga.) placed third in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:00.83.
- Sophomore Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) was fourth in the 50-free with a time of :25.76, freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) placed fourth in the 100-free at 1:01.13 and junior Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Calif.) was fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:56.01).

- Emory & Henry returns to the pool after Winter Break on Saturday, January 6 when it travels to Lenoir-Rhyne University to face off against the Bears and the Valkyries of Converse University. The meet is set to start at 2:00 p.m.
