Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Sixth After Day Two Of South Atlantic Conference Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams continued action on Thursday with four more events each at the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Championships. The women's team maintains its fifth-place spot, just seven points behind fourth-place Lenoir-Rhyne University while the men's team still sits sixth.

The Basics

The Women
- Event 11 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) tied for 18th in the "C Final" at :59.99 with sophomore Gabby Sadosky (Las Vegas, Nev.) taking 21st in 1:01.73.
- Event 13 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Sophomore Samantha Pepevnik (Porsgrunn, NORWAY) placed 12th in the "B Final," swimming a 4:43.84 as Gelenksi went a 4:48.68 to take 19th. Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) was the second alternate at 26th (5:07.56) while sophomore Jill Koler (Manassas, Va.) was 27th.
- Event 15 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Sophomore Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) claimed sixth with a time of 1:54.58. In the "C Final," Sadosky was 20th at 2:02.67, sophomore Maggie Robinson (Canton, Ga.) was 22nd (2:05.25) and freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) was 23rd (2:07.24). Sophomore Vivian Vanderpool (Elgin, Okla.) was the second alternate, finishing 26th in the prelims at 2:29.17 while sophomore Bri Digby (Carrollton, Va.) was 27th.
- Event 17 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – The Wasps relay of Pepevnik, Ritter, Gelenski and Barnett swam a 4:03.01, to take fourth and round out the day.

The Men
- Event 12 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) came in 13th at 51.07 seconds, breaking the school record in the process. Freshmen Noah Day (Milton, Fla.) and Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) were 18th and 19th, clocking times of :51.81 and :52.45, respectively. Freshman Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) finished as the second alternate at 26th with a time of :57.56 while freshman Peter Davis (Manassas, Va.) was 30th and freshman Alexander Hubbard (Davidson, N.C.) was 31st.
- Event 14 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Sophomore Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) shattered his previous school record by nearly six seconds, swimming a 4:12.37 to finish 18th.
- Event 16 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Sophomore Max Betzer (Cumming, Ga.) placed 21st with a time of 1:51.45. Sophomore Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) placed 27th in the preliminary session at 1:58.56 as with Jones and Lucas Cheuvront (Newport News, Va.) were 30th and 31st, respectively.
- Event 18 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – The Wasps placed sixth with a time of 3:38.76 on the efforts of Betzer, Teuton, Day and Jones.
