BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Swimming Team reached the midpoint of the season over the weekend as it competed at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Union Commonwealth University. The Wasps broke five school records and saw a trio of top-three finishes over the four-day meet.

Wednesday's Results
- Event 2 – 800-Yard Freestyle Relay – Junior Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.), freshman Ethan Veselik (Marion, Va.), junior Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) and sophomore Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) swam a 7:38.13 to finish eighth.
Thursday's Results
- Event 4 – 200-Yard Freestyle Relay – Senior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.), senior Kyle Berry (Ringgold, Ga.), Veselik and sophomore Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) went a 1:30.34, placing sixth.
- Event 6 – 500-Yard Freestyle - Patton swam a school-record of 4:49.03 to place sixth while Krafft was the second alternate with an 18th-place finish in the prelims. Veselik and freshman Ian Shirk (Black Mountain, N.C.) were 19th and 20th, respectively.
- Event 8 – 200-Yard Individual Medley - Teuton took sixth, swimming a record time of 1:57.64 while Shirk was 21st in the preliminaries.
- Event 10 – 50-Yard Freestyle – Kidd posted a school-record time of 20.98 seconds to take runner-up honors. Jones was 28th in the prelims.
- Event 12 – 200-Yard Medley Relay – Teuton, Patton, Kidd and Jones went a 1:37.02 to finish fifth.
Friday's Results
- Event 14 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Patton set another E&H record, swimming a 4:10.47 to place sixth. Krafft was 12th in 5:02.77.
- Event 16 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Kidd grabbed his second second-place finish of the weekend with a school-record time of 50.65 seconds while Teuton was fourth (:51.37). Shirk was 22nd in the prelims.
- Event 18 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Veselik was 14th (2:00.12), Krafft was 15th (2:03.50) and Shirk was 16th (2:11.32).
- Event 22 – 100-Yard Backstroke – Teuton notched a :52.15, placing fifth with Kidd close behind in sixth (:52.67). Veselik was the first alternate at 17th.
Saturday's Results
- Event 24 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – Teuton, Patton, Kidd and Jones place seventh with a time of 3:36.55.
- Event 26 – 1,650-Yard Freestyle – Patton turned in a 16:38.09 to finish seventh while Krafft was 13th in 19:16.37.
- Event 28 – 200-Yard Backstroke – Teuton finished fourth with a school-record time of 1:55.32.
- Event 30 – 100-Yard Freestyle – Kidd made it a third second-place finish going a 46.20 His time of 46.04 seconds in the prelims was a new school record while Jones was the second alternate at 18th and Veselik was 23rd.
- Event 32 – 200-Yard Breaststroke – Patton swam a 2:14.50 to place 12th.
- Event 36 – 400-Yard Freestyle Relay – Veselik, Krafft, Shirk and Berry posted a 3:44.04 to take 10th.

- Emory & Henry will return to the poll on Saturday, January 11. The Wasps are scheduled to visit Mars Hill University for a double dual with the Lions and the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College.
