FERRUM, Va. - The Emory & Henry men's tennis team (1-6, 0-2 ODAC) picks up their first win of the season over Ferrum College on Friday Afternoon. The Wasps picked up the 7-2 victory in the first leg of the three game road trip this weekend.
Doubles
- The Wasps suffered a tough loss at one doubles by a score of 8-5.
- At two doubles, Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.) and Dalton Shipley (Gate City, Va.) was up 3-0, before their opponents retired from the match.
- Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and Taylor Hines (Jonesville, Va.) blew by their opponents, 8-4, on the day.
Singles
- At two singles Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) swept his counterpart, 6-0, 6-0.
- Shipley won 6-2, 6-0.
- Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) defeated his opponent, 6-1, 6-2.
- McClung won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
- Hines closed out the match strong with a 6-0, 6-0 win over his opponent.
