Wasps Tennis Programs Downed By Virginia Wesleyan, 5-0, In Abbreviated Matches, Sunday Morning
BRISTOL, Va. - Due to inclement weather, both the men's and women's tennis teams moved their matches vs. Virginia Wesleyan indoors to Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club in Bristol, Virginia. In addition, due to court time, the Wasps and Marlins were only able to play the matches to clinch. Both the men's (1-13, 0-8) and women's (4-9, 1-6 ODAC) teams were shut out, 5-0.

Men's Doubles

The number one and two duos took tough, 8-1, losses. Three doubles did not fair much better, as the team of Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and Taylor Hines (Jonesville, Va.) were shut out, 8-0.

Women's Doubles

At one doubles, Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) were downed, 8-3.  Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) and Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) were unfortunate in their two doubles matchup, as they lost 8-5. Three doubles was shut out, 8-0.

Men's Singles

At one singles, senior Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.) took a 6-0, 6-0 defeat. Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) was shut down, 6-0, 6-1. At five singles, McClung lost, 6-0, 6-0. With five losses, the match was won by Virginia Wesleyan.

Women's Singles

Meade was defeated at one singles, 6-0, 6-0. Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) lost, 6-3, 6-1, to solidify the 5-0 loss for the Wasps on the day.

Next Matches

The Wasps host Roanoke on on Tuesday in an ODAC matchup that was rescheduled from April 2nd.
