Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Defeats Shenandoah, 7-2, Saturday In ODAC Action

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (8-4, 2-4 ODAC) picked up its second Old Dominion Athletic Conference win of the year, 7-2, over Shenandoah University (2-7, 0-5 ODAC) Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
Emory & Henry got out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match. Senior Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and freshman Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) won at the third flight, 8-1, while freshman Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and junior Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) claimed an 8-2 victory at No. 2.

In singles, McClung earned a clean-sheet victory at No. 6 while Garrett posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5. Marlow and junior Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) both got their wins after tight second sets, while McGuire won at the top flight by retirement after splitting the first two sets.
