Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Selected Ninth In ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team has been picked to finish ninth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, ODAC officials announced recently. The poll is voted on by the league's head coaches.

E&H returns seven players from last year's roster that finished with a winning season for the first time six years and welcomes a trio of freshmen to the fold. The Wasps went 2-1 during the fall portion of the seaon, and competed at the ITA South Region Championships for the first time since 2014.

Washington and Lee University received 11 of 12 first-place votes, and is picked to win the league for the 39th time. Virginia Wesleyan University is second while Guilford College earned the final top pick in third place. Hampden-Sydney College is one point back in fourth while Randolph-Macon College and Bridgewater College are one point apart in fifth and sixth, respectively.

Emory & Henry will open the spring portion of its season on Saturday when it hosts Spartanburg Methodist College at 1:00 p.m. The Wasps' first league match will be at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, March 7.
