EMORY, Va. - The King (Tenn.) University Men's Tennis Team (2-1) escaped with a 5-4 win over Emory & Henry College (0-1) Saturday afternoon. The Wasps took the match with the NCAA Division II-program down to the wire.

How It Happened
Emory & Henry opened the match with a 3-0 lead as King defaulted at No. 3 doubles, No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles.
The Tornado took both doubles matches but saw a hard-fought effort at the top flight from junior Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and freshman Sean Given (Cary, N.C.) for an 8-7 result.
Marlow claimed the opening set at No. 2 singles, 6-4, but fell 6-2 in both the second and third. Junior Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) battled at the No. 1 singles pairing, falling 6-3, 6-3. Junior Bryce Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) picked up a win at the fourth singles flight, 6-1, 6-1.
