HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (1-1, 1-0 ODAC) picked up its first win of the year Sunday, defeating Hampden-Sydney College (0-3, 0-1 ODAC) by a 5-4 score.

How It Happened
HSC got out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match, winning at the first and third flights. Emory & Henry claimed an 8-5 win at No. 2 for junior Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) and junior Bryce Williams (Bristol, Tenn.).

In singles play, the Wasps grabbed the top four pairings to seal the victory. McGuire won at the premier flight in a three-set battle while junior Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) grabbed a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2. Freshman Sean Given (Cary, N.C.) earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 while Williams made it two wins on the day with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 4.
