EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (5-6) grabbed a 6-1 win over Maryville (Tenn.) College (1-3) on Saturday afternoon to get the home portion of its spring season started.

How It Happened
E&H opened things by winning all three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. Senior Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and freshman Juan Alvarez (Metepec, MEXICO) picked up a 6-0 sweep at No. 1 while senior Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) and freshman Corey Garrity (Spartanburg, S.C.) also blanked their opponents, 6-0, at No. 2. Senior Tyler Wills (Rochelle, Va.) and freshman Alvaro Garcia (Madrid, SPAIN) completed the doubles rout with a 6-1 victory at the third pairing.

In singles action, the Wasps won the first through fifth flights to seal the victory. Marlow, Alvarez and Garrity all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
