
EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (1-6) and Women's Tennis Team (1-6) each fell in non-conference action to Converse University Sunday afternoon. The Valkyries women's squad topped the Wasps 6-1, while the men's team defeated E&H by a 7-0 margin.

- The Valkyries swept the doubles portion of the match to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Niclas Naedele (Munich, GERMANY) fell to Manuel Roncero by a 3-6, 3-6 score at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) dropped a 0-6, 1-6 decision to Takuma Furumaki at the No. 2 singles position.
- Sophomore Will Bayliss (Totland, Isle of Wight, ENGLAND) was defeated at No. 3 singles by Stanley Waters by a 2-6, 4-6 margin.
- Senior Alvaro Garcia (Madrid, SPAIN) came up short by a 1-6, 2-6 score to Marty Letessier at No. 4 singles.
- Junior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) fell at No. 5 singles to Lucas Walker 0-6, 0-6.
- Junior Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) dropped his match 3-6, 0-6 to Leopold Morel at No. 6 singles.
Women's Match
- The doubles team of junior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) and sophomore Meghan Moore (Midlothian, Va.) defeated Tamanna Panwar and Romy Rueff by a 6-4 final at No. 2 doubles, but Converse won the other two doubles matches to clinch the point.
- Freshman Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) fell to Khushi Kharb 1-6, 3-6 at No. 1 singles.
- Senior Sabina Chernega (Odesa, UKRAINE) lost to Lais Martins 1-6, 1-6 at the No. 2 singles spot.
- Freshman Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) downed Panwar in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
- Williams was defeated by S. Giraldo-Jimenez by a 0-6, 1-6 margin at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) gave Romy Rueff all she could handle at the No. 5 singles spot, but eventually came up just shy by a 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 0-1 (8-10) scoreline.
- Sophomore Karlie Quinn (Mocksville, N.C.) dropped her No. 6 singles match to Agustina Pieve by a 0-6, 3-6 final.
