Emory & Henry Men’s Track & Field Takes Seventh At 2020 ODAC Indoor Championships

SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams capped the indoor season over the weekend at the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Roanoke College. The men's team finished in seventh place overall, breaking four school records while two women competed for E&H with a broken record.

The Men
- Sophomore Donovan Pinnix (Eden, N.C.) won the league title in the shotput with a throw of 14.35 meters while senior Justin Fannon (Abingdon, Va.) was fourth at 13.71 meters. Sophomore Edward Rajner (Bainbridge, N.Y.) took 12th while sophomore Brody Fields (Pulaski, Va.) was 18th. In the weight throw, Rajner was 12th (13.27m) and Fannon was 17th.
- Junior Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) gave E&H its best finish on the track, taking sixth in the 800 meters with a record time of 2:00.27 while junior Jackson Kaze (Midlothian, Va.) was eighth in the mile, clocking a 4:35.01 for a new E&H best.
- In the 200 meters, sophomore Jaylyn Kreimes (Sharps, Va.) took 12th (:23.13) and combined with White, Kaze and freshman Colby Martin (Fork Union, Va.) for a school-record time of 3:34.24 in the 4x400 meter relay which was good for sixth.
- Junior Markell Moss (Wytheville, Va.) was 14th in both the 60-meter hurdles at :09.19 and the long jump (5.76m). Martin took 13th in the triple jump with a record mark of 12.24 meters and was 15th in the long jump.

The Women
- Sophomore Lorin Zehr (Holly Pond, Ala.) placed ninth in the weight throw at 12.29 meters while her throw of 9.46 meters in the shotput was good for 14th.
- Sophomore Yasmin Thorpe (Mount Airy, Md.) set a new E&H record in the 200 meters with a time of :29.54.

The Awards
- Washington and Lee University repeated as the men's champions while University of Lynchburg defended its women's title.
