Emory & Henry Track & Field Closes The Indoor Season At The DMR Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Track & Field Teams broke another five school records as they competed in the DMR Invitational at JDL Fast Track. The meet completed the indoor season for the Wasps.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Hayden Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) broke the school record in the 400 meters, stopping the watches in :52.28 to finish seventh. He was also 10th in the 200 meters at :23.53 to lead the Wasps.
- Freshman Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) crushed the E&H record in the 3,000 meters as he went 9:24.25 to finish 32nd overall.
- Freshman Bryce Cobler (Meadowview, Va.) ran a :07.42 in the 60 meters to finish 17th and was also 17th in the 200 meters. Freshman Zedrick Yeboah (Fredericksburg, Va.) added a 13th-place finish in the 200 meters and was 14th in the 400 meters.
- Freshman Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) took 10th place in the shot put, throwing 14.31 meters. Freshman Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) was 11th in the weight throw (13.20m) and 14th in the shot.
- In the relays, E&H finished second in the 4x400 meters with Yeboah, freshman Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.), Oglesby and Klapak running a 3:37.39.
- The Wasps set a new record in the distance medley relay of 11:37.38 on the efforts of Wilson, Yeboah, Oglesby and Klapak who took third.

Women's Top Performances
- Freshman Valentia Perry (Hampton, Va.) established the school record in the 60-meter hurdles at :11.98, finishing 12th. She was also 27th in the 200 meters and 32nd in the 60 meters.
-  Freshman Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) broke her own record in the 400 meters, taking 17th at 1:05.76. She also notched a 22nd-place finish in the 200 meters and 34th in the 60 meters.
- Freshman Chloe Jones (Harrison, Tenn.) led the Wasps in the 60 meters at :08.88 (31st) and was 26th in the 400 and 29th in the 200.
- Sophomore Annalyse McHone (Shawsville, Va.) took 25th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:57.49 while sophomore Madeline Bishop (Collinsville, Va.) was 39th in the 800 meters (2:45.39).

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will move to the outdoor portion of its season on Saturday, March 19 when it competes at the Lee Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee.
