Colby Martin Named SAC Varsity Gems Men’s Indoor Field Athlete Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry College senior Colby Martin has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, SAC officials announced Tuesday.

The Fork Union, Virginia native set two E&H records as the Wasps placed sixth at Shenandoah University's Kaye & J.J. Smith Invitational Sunday.

Martin scored 11 of Emory & Henry's 38 points as he tallied a pair of top-five finishes in his two events. His mark of 6.02 meters in the long jump was good for third place while his leap of 12.54 meters in the triple jump was fourth-best.

Emory & Henry will next compete at the COROS Collegiate Challenge on Sunday at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
